Adelita

Adelita is a Mexican Cinderella Story written by Tomie dePaola. Geared towards 5 years old and older, this book is a beautiful depiction of Cinderella. Instead of a fairy godmother in the English version, Cinderella's (Adelita in disguise)  god mother is Esperanza. Adelita carries the generation of her late father and mother when she marries another family's son,Javier. They met at the fiesta and fell in love at first sight. This is a good book to show depictions of ordinary fairytales in different cultures. I think this would be an awesome book to put into a lesson of learning types of literature.
